GUIDELINES FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE ALL SOULS WORSHIP BAND

What Is The All Souls Worship Band (ASWB)?
ASWB is a small group that is formed around the ministry of praise. Its function is to minister to the Lord and be collective worship leaders for the body of Christ.

What ASWB is not
It is not a performance group. ASWB ministers in song and on the instruments.

What are the requirements for membership?
The requirements for membership are simple, but they are critical and must be followed for continued membership, both for the sake of the individual, and for the sake of the ministry group itself.

You must be a member of All Souls.  ASWB is a ministry of All Souls Anglican Church.  As such, it is important that members of the worship team also be members in good standing of All Souls in order to be in spiritual harmony with the body. 

You must be born again. Jesus must be Lord of your life, and Lord of your ministry. It is not sufficient that you come to church, or that you were baptized and confirmed as a child. As an adult, you must confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. [Romans 10].  You also must be filled with God’s Holy Spirit, because God is looking for a people who will worship Him in spirit and truth.

You must be called to the ministry. The Lord will quicken the spirit of an individual if He has selected him/her for membership

You must be a worshipper in your daily life. It is impossible to lead others into worship if it is not part of your daily routine

You must be faithful. Rehearsals (or pre-worship services) are held on either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings from 7:30 until 9:30 PM. Attendance is expected so that the group may be properly prepared to minister. Worship services rotate with Cross Eyed Fish at the10:00 AM on Sundays at Mandarin Middle School.  Additional services may be required from time to time.

You must be a warrior. Being part of a praise ministry is something, which Satan detests. You will come under spiritual attack. You will be under the protection of the group’s prayer covering, but you need to know how to defend yourself as well.

Nothing is forever. The Lord will lead you into and out of the group as He sees fit.

No strange fire. If you are in ASWB, it is unwise, and unhealthy to mix this ministry with participation in a worldly music performance group. The pollution from the world will influence your ability to minister, and may make you vulnerable to attack from the enemy. The question to ask yourself if you are involved in such a group is, "How does the music glorify the Lord?".
